Your Roadmap to Becoming a Dancer

1. Start with Foundation!

As a New Dancer, 70% of your classes should focus on the fundamentals.

At Musicality Central, we use fundamental classes/sessions such as Funky Foundation, intro to heels, or Beginner Dancehall to hone in on the fundamentals of specific styles to build the confidence you need trust your identity as mover.

3. Add in Beginner Choreography

Now that you’ve starting working on your dance fundamentals and choreography learning skills, it’s time to put all that to practice.

We have beginner choreography based classes like Choreo 101, Dancehall Flava, and Burlesque Intentions that give you the opportunity to pracrice the skill of learning, retaining, and performing choreography, but also allows you to showcase the skills you have built from our foundational classes or allows you to express those skills with different dynamics.

5. Try something different!

Maybe get a little uncomfortable.

A great way to continue to grow is to try things you’ve never done before. So as more opportunities are presented through sessions, workshops, and special events, we encourage you to push out of your comfort zone and expand your path.

2. Take Choreo Confidence

The other 30% that a New Dancer should focus on is learning choreography.

Knowing HOW to take a Choreo Class where you learn quickly and retain easily is a skill, and Choreo Confidence is our proprietary Session teaching you these skills.

*Offered periodically*

4. Kick it up a notch!

Ready for more of a challenge? It’s time to take a level 2 class.

Once you’ve built up your confidence in your dance skills and you’re comfortable with learning, retaining, and performing choreography, it’s time to add in some level 2 choreography classes, such as Choreo Vibes, Funky Vibes, or monthly workshops. These intermediate classes give dancers more to manage with the pace of the choreo and how fast it’s taught, layering of techniques, the level of athleticism, and more intiricate musicality. Intermediate classes are a great way to challenge yourself and continue to grow.
